Thirty Three more names

Hello There darlin's!
 How was your long weekend!
 Ours was great!

We busted out the bar-b-que, and grilled our fave steaks from Costco, and then we went to a huge pancake breakfast on Monday, and chowed, and then on Monday night we went to our local cemetery for a candlelight service to remember all those who have fought for the freedom of this land!  It was beautiful.
We have a friend who was buried there, and we went and put flags, and lit a luminary in his honor at his grave. It chokes me up every time.

There were also 33 more names added to the wall from our local area. There was a star beside there name if it had been added in the last 6 months.  My boys and the duke...we just stood there, and read so many names, so many lives, just gone.  The ages besides them all, even more tragic.  It made me so sad for all of those who have lost loved ones.

After Fric and Frac were nestled in their beds, I turned on the telly, and was shocked to see stories about Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Anna Nicole Smith?  I was wondering why they would be showing their stories, and not the tales of the hero's, of this country.  Do you think it is weird?  It made me wish that people didn't obsess so much about celebrity in this country, but instead worry about what the heck is going on, and trying to do something positive to change it!

Perhaps if more people went to local cemeteries, or National Cemeteries, things would be different. But who am I? Just a crazy mom who likes to scrapbook. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it all week.

So over the past two months, so much scrappy stuff has gone on , including a Best Betty Getaway!  As usual we were up to our tricks, and had some hilarity at the we hours of the night. We got lots of pages done, and ate a whole lotta food.  Busted out some page kits, and a darlin' summer banner, and some fun new gifts for teachers too!  Ill show ya all of it over the next few weeks!

In the mean time here is a layout i made using a
yummy Polka Dot Whimsy kit, called Simply Inspiring!
The pictures are old, but the fun remains the same! :)

The kit is filled with goodies from October afternoon, one of my all time faves!

Cricut Classes!

Hey there sweet Bettie's!

Long time no post eh???

Well here's the dealio...i thought no one was reading this, and I got super busy, and i thought oh no one will even notice if i mark the blog to private, and just take a break for a while. So that is what I did. I kept scrappin my brains out, and was busy like a beaver, but i stopped taking pictures of my projects, and stopped blabbing away on here!

A few weeks went by, and sure enough...no one said a thing...but then in the last month or so...lotsa gals have mentioned it, and it made me feels so happy that someone actually reads it!
{was i blogging away for nothing? LOL}

So thanks to all the peeps who said how much they missed it, and asked for me to start it up again!

The good news is i have so many new things to show you!
I have been up to my elbows, for real, in Modge Podge, and also made so many fun kits of all types for the Bettie Getaways!

So over the next few weeks, i will get caught up!

But tomorrow I am teaching the Cricut Classes at the store!
I have extra kits made and ready, so even if you haven't signed up yet, just come on over!
Call 630-CROP

{Please excuse the pictures, they are off my phone, and totally stink. See what I mean? LOL}

Anyhow this strawberry card is for the beginner class!
 i love it!

And this apron card is for the advanced class.

And as usual i will go over every dial and button on your machine,
and we will discuss mats and cartridges, and i will share all my secrets with ya!

See ya next week! :)

Cricut Classes tomorrow!

Hey there!
If you are a local gal , and need to know how to work your Cricut machine,
then come on by the store tomorrow afternoon,
and I will teach you everything you need to know!

For the Advanced class we are making this springtime wreath.
Looks super cute on your front door.

And for the beginner class we are making this simple bunny banner.
It is super cute to hang on your mantle to welcome the Easter bunny.

Please keep in mind that these projects are very simple,
since the focus of the class is on the workings of your machine!

To sign up for a class, call the store at 630-CROP!
Bring your machine, cords, mat, and any cartridges you have!
see you then!

A couple of twits

Hey again!  So have you gotten anything done since last time we talked?  :)

We are in the middle of redoing our kitchen, so the construction dudes are here, banging away, and putting everything back together again!
I cannot wait til it is done!

So you know how I never have enough time to get anything done?  LOL. Sometimes even with my scrapbook stuff?  Well here is a quick way to catch up.  You know these page protectors? I have told you about them before.  They are made by bazzill, and also We R Memory Keepers.
Those are the two kinds that i like the best.

Here are a few examples.
i also used the new line from Bella Blvd.
 It is so cute.
it is called Summertime, and we fell in love with it at CHA!

PS:  Dont mind the pictures of the Duke and I at the fair.
We were being dorks, like usual.
It's how we roll.

The Titty Committee

Hey dolls!  Well here we are again! How about some pink this post?
I rarely use it in my scrapbooking since i have no girlee's...so when i can use it i go all out!

The last two years in October, I have volunteered at a huge crop called Survivor Crop. All the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen. It was super fun, and each year i made really good friends with all the other volunteers too!  This layout shows our pics, and the fun we have as a bunch of crazy chicks, trying to save second base, one boobie at a time!

We were called the Tittie Committee.
It was alot of hard work, and long hours, but i am so glad to have had this experience.

 Hey girls!
Wow, it has been a crazy week.  We have some serious home renovations going on...and not expected ones!  But it sure does make a good excuse to spring clean out the kitchen!  I have been home alot, staying here to let the work men in and out, and documents all the pics ect.
Yesterday I actually cleaned off the scrap table and got some stuff done! :)
For this layout I used a kit from Polka Dot Whimsy!
The kit is called "best story ever".
It is filled with all sorts of yummy goodness!

Super fun to work with these kits!

Hello Lover!

Oh mY gosh!!!!! I am so behind in my postings of my layouts!  Hee hee hee. I made so many cute projects in February, and now look...its already half way thru March!
I need to give my head a shake , and start making lists, and stay on track!

I made this page to hang on my 12 x 12 clipboard in our hallway, for the month of February. I also took it to CHA, and it was in the booth too, to show off the powders!
This beauty color of red is called Cable Car Red...even the name is cute!

I'm clearly addicted to twine, and also pinwheels, as you can see.
They are popping up on all kinds of my projects!

Oh, and i still love a good banner!
Happy Wednesday!
 Happy Hump day!
 :)

Almost berry season around these parts!

Hi Girls!!!
Well spring has sprung in these parts, and it is almost time to go and pick some fresh strawberries...so i thought i better bust out my pics from last year and get them done!  :)
A few years ago, at CHA, I saw this fruity line, and knew i would own it.
Love the little seed packets, and the buttons from button Bettie's etsy shoppe...its linked on the side bar if you need some...just click on little red cottage! :)
Love sewing these little ruffles on all my pages???!!!
They aren't exactly flat, so i smush 'em down to fit in my albums.  :)
